Ghost made the system as convuluted as possible to make it seem that lootboxes were a seperate entity, but the part tokens were the bread and butter of getting your car up to speed, and the easiest way to get those was from loot boxes.

I played the game a few times since the big update and I noticed the shops had much better inventory that refreshed quicker too. Shops were constantly stocked with shitty parts and took ages to update. It really punished you for buying new cars, because then you'd have to grind races again and again. The card system has been balanced, tweaked, updated numerous times since release, but at release it was brutal. what reason again? There is no way anyone at Ghost or EA would be able to say with a straight face that gambling with RNG cards is more fun than just upgrading your car with specific parts through the money you earn from races. The card system is pure garbage, replacing a perfectly fine and enjoyable part of the game for. I have to completely disagree with Joe's opinion on the game because mainly he came at the game looking for the 'lootbox p2w system' which for the main part isn't there.įor the most, it was, at launch, until the backlash from Battlefront and NFS became too scary for EA.
